Some clips of my speech at the Scottish Media 140 conference in Glasgow - see the Pat Kane tag to watch all five (including a very nice testimonial from the audience).
Movie 1 picks out my points about the next wave of social networking seeing competitive advantage in more self-conscious privacy considerations.Back-up links to speech below. (BTW "extimacy" is originally a concept by the political philosopher Slavoj Zizek (via Lacan), which has recently been applied to social networking behaviour).

"Here's a keynote I presented at the Media140 conference in London in May 2009. The topic was the relationship between traditional journalistic practices, and the new 'real-time' media epitomised by Twitter. I drew on my own experience as a founding editor of the Sunday Herald in 1999. The slides are available here."

The question I'm answering here is: 'Is Web 2.0 the Emperor's New Clothes?'" My afternoon workshop presentation is available here."
